☼ JYOTI BHAVAN JHABUA |
| HISTORY
Jhabua is predominantly a tribal district located in the western part of Madhya Pradesh. The district is sparsely populated and suffers from high rates of illiteracy and poverty. Almost half of the population lives below the poverty line. So as to make available quality education to at least some children from this neglected district Jyoti Bhavan was established. It was originally set up by the Indore Diocese, but when the new diocese of Jhabua was carved out of Indore, this hostel too came under the new diocese. Jyoti Bhavan is considered one of the premier institutions of the Jhabua diocese.
PRESENT ACTIVITIES
Jyoti Bhavan is a hostel presently accommodating 128 youngsters. These youngsters are outstanding students in schools they attend; they excel not only in academics but also in sports and all other extracurricular activities.

24, 2002, saw a new chapter commence in the history of Jyoti Bhavan.
Although the plan of the Salesians coming to Jhabua was on the anvil
from the time Fr. Chrys Saldanha was Provincial, it was finally on
this day that the Salesians arrived in Jhabua to take charge of
Jyoti Bhavan, a hostel for tribal boys from the parishes of the
Jhabua diocese.
